In the 1950s, it was dance halls. In the 1990s, it was pool bars. And now, we are discovering that the 20-teens is the decade to put away our disco shoes and pick up a table tennis bat! In light of this, we decided to invite our clients to come and help us try out the latest London night time craze of ‘Social Ping Pong’.
A private area of the Ping Bar in Earl’s Court was booked out to allow for proper immersion into the competition. This bar is just one of the small but growing number of venues championing the sport, which started out as a Victorian parlour game and has now emerged from home garages and back yards to be the cool new bar phenomena letting guests play the sport in the ultimate way – beer in one hand, paddle in the other!
A great night was had socialising over some beers and wine, catching up with some of our long standing clients and also meeting some of the new faces from this year. Fabulous home-style pizza with specialty salads were enjoyed, though the English World Cup match threatened to dampen some moods. Luckily, the Ping Pong tournament started up! Some took it very seriously, others not so much. But as always, the night involved lots of laughs and enjoyment.
