Summer Party at The Gherkin
Wow – what a night! Not exactly the weather for a summer party on Thursday for our June function, but I don’t think many seemed to mind because we had what felt like the busiest networking party yet. We were delighted to treat our MyOErs this time to the fabulous venue of London’s iconic skyscraper The Gherkin, deserving its reputation for being ‘the most civilised skyscraper in the world’.
It was great to see so many new MyOE faces this time, many of whom braved coming on their own – but who were very quickly welcomed and engaged with our very friendly and chatty community of like-minded professionals, all enjoying a night of drinks, food, fun and networking. The smiles, laughter and sheer volume throughout the evening was evidence of a really great night all round.
We ran a competition on the night for one of our lucky community to win the opportunity of experiencing something completely different by joining the London team to ‘Dine in the Sky’. The winning entry would have an all-inclusive dinner on a 22-seat Sky Table suspended 100ft in the air over the O2 (!) whilst enjoying great food and wine overlooking a truly unique view of the capital’s skyline. We had lots of great entries, which all went into a hat and the lucky winner that was pulled out was one of our new faces in the community, Sue Chan. We are very much looking forward to sharing that exciting experience with her this coming Thursday – photos to follow.
